What’s up Everybody? My name is Erik Bradley & I’m the Music Director at B-96 — and I’m gonna be putting up some posts here now & then about music that I’m digging or whatever is on my mind at the time…so let me know anytime if you have feedback on the station OR any music that you are loving!Â
Definitely am looking forward to hearing more of Kanye’s music – his album is quite the anticipated project of the next few months – and I think “Stronger” is one of the best sounding songs in play on B-96 right now….glad that 50 finally has a track worth playing (I LOVE hearing “Ayo Technology”, Justin totally makes that song work!) Other than those two, the Sean Kingston CD is definitely a good one to pick up … it’s loaded with hits. From the guilty pleasure section – I am loving the new Aly & AJ (DON’T LAUGH) single called “Potential Break-Up Song” — it’s pure pop and feels so good!Â

Anyway, thank you for listening to B-96 and for checkin’ out b96.com!   Much respect – Erik

Hello Erik,
My name is Patrick and I wanted to let you know I have been living in Chicago for about two years now. I used to listen to B-96 in the past when I visited here. Now that I am here officially, I have been listening to B-96 quite a bit.
The first thing I want to know about is, why does the station’s slogan have to be “Chicago’s Hits and Hip-Hop?” Wouldn’t that be confusing to the listener? One doesn’t know the station’s true focus. Wouldn’t it be better just to be known maybe as, “Chicago’s BANGIN hits, B-96!!!” That way the station could be open to more forms of music without alienating the listener.
Also, I have to address the B-96 After Party. I don’t really like the mixes as much anymore since you guys just had to mess it up and add hip-hop mixes to it. The mixes should have been left alone. Besides, I am somewhat tired of hip-hop and I wish you guys would go back to playing more House/dance music. Put all that hip-hop stuff on the HD2 channel. The only two hip-hop mixers I somewhat like are DJ Nonstop and Flipside. They should have their own SEPARATE mix show on Friday and Saturday nights maybe from 8pm until 10pm. Then from 10pm until 5am it should be ALL House/Dance mixes.
Speaking of which, I want to say I LOVE Josh “the Funky One”, Billy the Kid and Mixin Marc. They represent House Music to the fullest!!!! But I do have one problem, I wish the mixers would play more DEEEEEP House Music and not just electro. Is the station going to do another mixer search in the near future? For the record, LOUIE LOOP needs to go, his mixes are awful!!!!

Awesome HD2 Dance channel — but WHY is there NO information about it at all on the B96 website?! I would love to see the playlist on your site… Please add some more information, and please boost the HD signal strength, as the reception is intermittent in the Lake Zurich/Palatine area…
THANKS!
